Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 October 2026
This policy explains what Proloquent collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Proloquent website and app.
Information we collect
- Account data: your email and authentication details.
- Practice data: the responses, written text, and audio recordings you submit, plus the resulting scores and feedback.
- Your feedback: ratings and comments you send us about the Service, kept with your account so we can see what they refer to.
- Usage data: activity such as attempts, pages viewed, and device/browser information, collected to run and improve the Service.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service: scoring your work and returning feedback.
- To maintain your account, credits, and progress history.
- To secure the Service and prevent abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account and support requests.
- To send a few emails that help you get started or finish something you began: a welcome, a reminder if you haven’t tried your free interview, a note after you look at our plans, a note if a checkout doesn’t complete, and tips on where to start after you buy a plan. Each one has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing doesn’t affect receipts or account emails, such as notice that your plan is ending or has ended.
Service providers
We share data with vendors who process it on our behalf under contract, including cloud hosting and database providers, AI model providers (to generate feedback on your Writing and Speaking responses), a transactional email provider, a payment processor, and a product analytics provider (PostHog). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
AI processing
Your Writing and Speaking responses are sent to AI model providers to generate feedback. Where a provider offers it, we opt out of having your submissions used to train their models and configure our integrations accordingly.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of essential cookies that are required for the Service to work — keeping you signed in and processing checkout. These are always on.
We also use analytics to understand how the product is used and improve it: the pages you visit and what you click, where you came from (for example a search engine or a link), your approximate location (country and city, from your IP address), and your device, browser and operating system. When you’re signed in, this is linked to your account.
Analytics cookies and session recording (a replay of what you see and do on the site, with everything you type, such as passwords and email addresses, hidden) are on unless you choose Reject. In the UK, the EU/EEA and Switzerland we ask with a cookie banner; elsewhere you can choose at any time from “Manage cookies” in the footer. If you reject, we stop setting analytics cookies and stop recording, and count your visits without cookies or recording, using an identifier that changes every day. If you’re signed in, what you do is still linked to your account. You can change your choice at any time using the “Manage cookies” link in the footer.
Data retention
We keep your account and practice data (your answers, transcripts, scores and feedback) while your account is active. Audio recordings of your Speaking practice are deleted automatically after 30 days; the transcript and scores stay. Recordings from the free demo are kept for 90 days to check and improve our marking; the transcript and score stay. To delete an attempt, a demo, or your account and its associated data, email support@proloquent.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise them, email support@proloquent.com.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
