How credits work
Credits pay for the live examiner and AI marking. You only use them when you do one of these:
- A live speaking interview3 credits
- A Writing task, marked by AI1 credit
- A full mock exam12 credits
- Reading and Listening practiceFree
For example, the 1-Month plan has 30 credits. That is up to 10 live speaking interviews, or fewer live speaking interviews and some Writing tasks.
- Free to start. A new account gets 4 free credits, enough for one live speaking interview and one Writing task. On SELT Speaking & Listening it gets 3, enough for one live speaking interview. No card needed.
- Failed sessions are refunded. If a live speaking interview can’t be marked (for example, we couldn’t hear you), the credits come back by themselves, up to three times a week. Past that, email us. Mock exams are paid once at the start and aren’t refunded this way.
- Credits last as long as your plan. Unused credits end when the plan ends. Credits belong to one exam.
What you get after every live speaking interview
A level, a score on each official criterion, and what to fix next, a minute after you finish.
Sample report for an example candidate. Yours is written about what you actually said or wrote.
A solid B2: task fulfilment & communicative effect is a strength; focus next on accuracy and range of grammar.
A solid B2 performance: you communicate clearly and complete every task. To move towards C1, link ideas more precisely, add a few complex structures, and keep talking through short pauses instead of stopping.
What’s working
Did you do what the task asked and get your message across clearly?
You answered every question fully and your role play reached a clear outcome. In Part 4 your presentation covered both points on the card, though the conclusion was rushed.
Do your ideas follow on logically and link together?
Your longer answers were easy to follow, but you leaned on 'and' and 'also' to link ideas. Try 'on the other hand', 'as a result' or 'that's partly why'.
How varied and how correct your choice of words is.
A good range for the topics, including 'commute', 'work-life balance' and 'cut down on'. Some repetition of 'very important' and 'nice'.
I try to cut down on screen time after work
· A natural phrasal verb, used correctly.
How clear your pronunciation is and how smoothly you speak.
Clear and easy to understand. You paused often mid-sentence to search for words, and your intonation stayed flat when giving opinions.
What to work on
How varied and how correct your grammar is.
Good control of past and present tenses, but recurring errors with conditionals ('if I would have more time') and few complex structures. This is what's holding your level back.
if I would have more time, I would join a gym
· Say 'if I had more time': no 'would' after 'if'.
Next steps
- Practise conditional sentences aloud: 'If I had more time, I would...'.
- Learn five linking phrases for contrast and result, and use two in every long answer.
- In Part 4, save 20 seconds of your talk for a clear conclusion.
